Social Security Certificate Services
The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that administers the Social Security program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors’ benefits. In order to evidence that a U.S. citizen is receiving Social Security benefits.
InterCol will be able to arrange a “letter of budget”, “letter of benefits”, “letter of proof of income”, “letter of proof of award” or “certification of income” before the American Embassy, which can be used for legal purposes according to the interest of the applicant and mainly as a direct way to process a Colombian visa in case the monthly pension received is not less than the equivalence of three (3) legal monthly minimum wages in force in Colombia.
To obtain this certification, InterCol will require the following documents:

- Completed and signed form DS-5505. You can download and fill out the form here DS-5505-PRIVACY-ACT-COL.
- Copy of your valid identity document (passport for U.S. citizens).
- Copy of any Social Security/Veterans communication or bank statement showing the amount of benefits you receive.
